De werking van Google Nieuws

Een video over de manier waarop Google Nieuws berichten verzamelt, bij elkaar voegt en op volgorde zet.

Ondertussen komt nog even voorbij dat uitgevers eenvoudig zelf kunnen bepalen wat wel en niet opgenomen mag worden, met robots.txt. Terwijl de uitgevers zelf een ingewikkeld soort DRM willen invoeren waar zoekmachines zich aan zouden moeten houden, genaamd ACAP. Uitgevers weten namelijk nog niet goed hoe ze met Google Nieuws moeten omgaan, blij zijn met het verkeer of problemen maken omdat stukjes van hun berichten ergens anders staan.

YouTube Reporters’ Center

Op YouTube is sinds kort een kanaal, YouTube Reporters’ Center, waar ervaren journalisten uitleggen hoe ze werken. Mensen interviewen, video’s maken of feiten controleren, het komt allemaal aan bod. Kortom, een handige verzameling instructies en tips voor aankomende citizen journalists.
