Gebruik van de meta description door Google

De meta informatie met de beschrijving van een pagina wordt door Google niet gebruikt bij de berekening van de plaats in zoekresultaten. Maar het heeft wel degelijk zin om een goede beschrijving op te nemen.

Die tekst kan namelijk gebruikt worden als omschrijving in de lijst met zoekresultaten. In een artikel legt Google uit hoe deze tekst wordt gebruikt.

Volgens Google moet een goede beschrijving:

• gaan over de inhoud van de pagina
• per pagina verschillend zijn
• goed leesbaar voor mensen zijn
